This new product is called Pick Gently.
The main objective of Pick Gently is to assist and support operators in the manufacturing processes and preparation of pick to cart orders.
To this end, an App has been designed with an intuitive and easy-to-use interface, which allows, without requiring user training, to use the solution without errors. It is especially useful for reducing learning curves and training times for new operators.
A pick to cart system (also known as a “picking cart system”) is an essential part of order fulfillment processes in intralogistics environments, such as warehouses and distribution centers.
What is Pick Gently?
Pick Gently is a solution composed of a “picking” cart equipped with a device that carries an Android mobile application. The operator can prepare different orders simultaneously and guided to optimize the process of collecting products from shelves and their subsequent packaging.
The items will be placed in the picking cart. Every order will have previously been linked to a box in the cart and will be ready to use. By turning on lights in each box, the operator will be able to place orders without errors.
The application will guide the operator through the different locations, always giving them the optimal route. Once inside each item it will give them the quantity for each box (equivalent to an order).
How a pick to cart system works with an Android application:
Order registration
Orders are registered in the system and associated with a specific picking cart that will have an Android device, either mobile or tablet, with an application through which to carry out the procedures.
Pickup List
The application shows the cart employee the list of products that must be picked up. This may include detailed information about the quantity, location and a description of the products.
Product scanning
As the operator picks products, they use the app to scan barcodes or RFID tags to verify they are picking orders correctly.
Real time update
The app constantly updates the order status and shows how many products have been picked up and how many are left to pick up.
